This past week, myself, Sharri, Pastor Rich & Kathy, Harold Lund, and Scott & Marianne Studebaker have been at the C&MA General Council in Columbus, Ohio. It has been a great week filled with worship, testimony, challenges, and a fresh move of the Spirit of God among us. There is not room in the Blog to tell you all that has happened. But suffice to say that God is at work!
The theme of the week has been FORWARD, and that is in reference to our mission statement as an Alliance family, which is as follows: "We are a Christ Centered Acts 1:8 Family." Out of this flows four dynamics of how we are to be this family: We Love, We Proclaim, We Reach, and We Launch. Those dynamics are very similar to our mission here at TAC, and they should be!
So what does the FORWARD have to do with this? Simply put, it is a reminder to not shrink back from our calling to be His witnesses wherever he has placed us and wherever we as a church family go! Just as our Alliance family is looking at continuing on in pursuing the fulfillment of Matthew 24:14 under the power of the Holy Spirit, we too as a family at TAC need to continue to press forward to what and where God would have us do and be in our Jerusalem (The Bella Vista Community), Judea (the greater Redding area), Samaria (throughout the state and nation), and the uttermost parts of the earth (the uttermost parts of the earth!). The good news - and the reminder that we received this week - is that we are not alone in this endeavor! Yes, the Holy Spirit has given us power for this task, but HE has also given us a larger Alliance family to help with the tasks at hand. What a blessing to be a part of a family that is moving forward and is willing to encourage each other, help other, pray for each other, and stand together for such a cause as this!
So as we look ahead to the tasks which lie before us, remember that we are not alone, and God has not called us to a task that He will not go out before us. He is faithful and He will do it! Hear the words of the Apostle Paul:
"Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained." (Phil. 3:13-16)
So where do we go from here? FORWARD!
